so a muslim mp in the uk has been under surveillance since 2004? this is appalling behaviour, of course, but given the political hysteria surrounding 9/11 is it really so surprising? don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that this is "right", but it seems to me that this is an issue of ideology, religious ideology to boot, and it strikes me that it is only sensible for an establishment that finds itself the target of those espousing an ethos that's prepared to kill to make their point, to be cautious of those espousing the same, broadly speaking, the same basic faith, unpalatable though that might be...

and let me clarify further — i'd like to see all mps bugged, whatever creed or religion they have, because let's face they're all up to no good — quis custodiat ipsos custodes?...
