how annoying...

by way of research for my proposed illustrations, i've been looking at various fan depictions of characters from harry potter. what depresses me is that an overwhelming majority seem to have been influenced more by the films than by the books, as the hogwarts students are more often than not outfitted in bog-standard school uniform, rather than the black robes it clearly states in the books are worn.

i expect more from so-called artists than the sheep-like, slavish devotion to somebody else's imagery — and incorrect imagery at that! mind you, with the preponderance of manga/anime images, and the repressive lack of creativity that seems to entail, i suppose i should expect no better...

sigh...
